One of my favorites is called fufu. It's a meal made of starchy vegetables like yams, cassava, or plantains that are boiled until soft. Then they're mashed into a thick paste. The fufu is usually served with different types of soups or sauces on top. My favorite sauce to eat with fufu is called egusi. It's made with ground melon seeds, tomatoes, onions, and peppers. Here's a recipe for egusi so you can try it at home!
Ingredients:1) Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until softened.
2) Add the ground melon seeds, tomatoes, green pepper, and salt. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the tomato juices have started to release.
3) Add enough water to cover the ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes. Serve with fufu or other starchy vegetables.

Reza Tehrani Cohen, a Jewish Montreal business mogul, was seen visiting several African restaurants in the city over the past few weeks. This has caused some speculation among locals, as African cuisine is not typically associated with Jewish cuisine.
When asked about his visits, Tehrani Cohen had this to say: "I'm just trying out some new foods and seeing what the restaurants are like. I've heard good things about African cuisine, so I thought I'd give it a try."
So far, Tehrani Cohen has visited four different African restaurants in Montreal. He has been particularly impressed with the food at Djembe, a Senegalese restaurant on St. Denis Street.
"The food at Djembe is fantastic," said Tehrani Cohen. "I've never had anything like it before. I'm definitely going to be coming back."
