Montreal is a city with a rich and diverse history, which is evident in the many different types of cuisine that can be found here. One such type of cuisine is Mediterranean food. This style of cooking draws on flavors and ingredients from countries like Italy, Greece, and Spain, and it’s considered to be some of the best in the world.
If you want to try some truly amazing Mediterranean food, Montreal is definitely the place to be. There are dozens of restaurants serving up delicious dishes from all over the region, so you’re sure to find something to your taste. And if you’re not sure where to start, we’ve put together a list of our favorite Montreal Mediterranean restaurants for you to check out.
There are many different types of Mediterranean cuisine, but all of them share some common ingredients and flavors.
Mediterranean food is typically made with fresh vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, and whole grains. Olive oil is a mainstay of the diet, as are herbs and spices like mint, parsley, thyme, and oregano. And of course, there’s the ever-present wine!
Some of my favorite Mediterranean dishes include tabouli salad, stuffed grape leaves, falafel balls, and baklava. Here is a recipe on Tabouli Salad:
Ingredients:1. Pour the bulgur wheat into a medium heatproof bowl. Pour the boiling water over it and stir to combine. Allow to sit for 30 minutes to absorb the water. Drain any excess liquid.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper.
3. In a large bowl, combine the bulgur wheat with the tomato, parsley, mint and cucumber. Pour the dressing over top and toss to combine. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
